Frequently Asked Questions

You have agreed to save a fixed amount of money each month in order to settle the debts. When the amount saved is sufficient to make a bona fide offer to one of your creditors/collectors, we will initiate negotiations. In the meantime, creditors/collectors may initiate settlement negotiations, which we will engage in. Each situation is unique. The time to complete your first settlement will depend on various factors (amount of debt, stage of delinquency, and type of creditor), but will usually occur seven (7) to nine (9) months into the program.

Yes, when the negotiators have reached settlement with a creditor/collector, we will notify you of the settlement offer to get your approval. If you accept the settlement, we will facilitate the settlement process and notify the payment processor to make payment to the creditor/collector.

Do not continue to use any credit cards that you have retained the Law Firm to settle. You can use one credit card for emergency purposes only. Your creditors/collectors have access to your credit report and if they notice that you are using any of your credit cards, they will be less willing to settle.

Your credit will get worse. If you cease making monthly payments, creditors/collectors will report you to the credit reporting agencies. Once debts have been settled, you will become more credit worthy because you will have less outstanding debt.

Some creditors or collectors may take legal action against you. Moulton Law Group will provide assistance to help you in the event this happens. If you are one of those that get sued, please contact us immediately. Our negotiators and attorneys will get involved immediately and contact the creditor/collector that has taken this action against you and work with you to resolve the lawsuit.
